  Coppola began her professional career as a hostess on the MTV game show Remote Control. In 1991, she was cast in the soap opera Another World playing the vixen Lorna Devon, who was the long-lost daughter of popular character Felicia Gallant. The role was played by her until 1994.One of her most famous TV characters is a recurring part on Trinity (1998-1999) and as also a major role in the American remake (99) of Cold Feet (1999). The actress also gets top billing on TNT's Drama Bull (2000). She was Leesa in a 1999 episode of Sports Night, appeared briefly as Lieutenant. Stadi in the pilot episode of Star Trek: Voyager, played a cannibalistic murderer in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and a widower who marries her deceased husband's killer on Law & Order: Criminal Intent as well as appeared numerous times in the role of JAG lawyer Lieutenant Commander Faith Coleman on JAG and NCIS (she was also in the episode NCIS: Los Angeles, but in a different role). In 2003, she starred alongside Gary Oldman and Ving Rhames in the movie Sin and also played a Hollywood rehab-related stereotype under the name of Toni Stark on Dawson's Creek. She played a power company public relations rep in a 2004 episode on Monk. Coppola was also an unique female serial killer who consented to catch her duplicate on Crossing Jordan's episode in 2005, "Road Kill". She had a recurring role on NBC's American Dreams, playing the character of Nancy. She was on Two and a Half Men as Dr. Michelle Talmadge, in the episode "Woo-Hoo, A Hernia Exam!" (2005).
