Anna of Arendelle (/’a:n@Anna of Arendelle (/’a:n@/) is a fictional character, appears in Walt Disney Animation Studios’ 53rd animated film Frozen (2013) as well as its sequel Frozen II (2019). Kristen Bell voices her as an adult. Livvy Subenrauch as well as Katie Lopez are her singing and speaking voices when she was when she was a young child. Agatha Lee Monn played her nine-year-old (singing). Hadley Gannaway portrayed her as an eight-year-old girl in Frozen II. Stubenrauch is the sound of the archive. Anna was loosely based on Gerda the character from Hans Christian Andersen's Danish fairytale "The Snow Queen". The Disney film adaptation depicts Anna as the princess of Arendelle. Anna is the younger sister of Elsa (Idina Mezel) who is the heir to the throne. She also is able to making and controlling ice and snow. After Elsa mistakenly sends Arendelle into a perpetual winter, Anna, a fearless and faithful girl, sets off on a treacherous journey to save her sister, and help save her kingdom. The original fairytale as well as the Snow Queen character was difficult to translate into the screen in a feature-length film. Walt Disney was one of the film's many executives who attempted to adapt the tale. But the film makers could not figure out the characters, and several adaptations were discarded. The directors Buck and Lee eventually solved the issue by presenting Anna (and Elsa) as sisters, and creating a lively relationship between the two characters.
