Alicia Vikander

 Alicia Amanda Vikander, /vI’kaend@r/ (listen) was born 3 October 1988. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including an Academy Award, in addition to nominations for two Golden Globe Awards and three British Academy Film Awards. Born and raised in Gothenburg, Vikander began acting as a kid in minor stage productions at the Gothenburg opera house. She then began her ballet training at the Royal Swedish Ballet in Stockholm. Her acting career started in short films as well as television shows in Sweden. The first time she was recognized was for her performance on the drama series Andra Avenyn (2008)-2010. Her debut film as a director in Pure (2010) in Pure, where she was awarded the Guldbagge Award for Best Actress. She gained wider recognition in 2012 for playing Kitty in Joe Wright's adaptation of Anna Karenina and Queen Caroline Mathilde in the Danish film A Royal Affair. Vikander gained international notoriety for her performance in the film as Vera Brittain in Testament of Youth (2014) as well as a humanoid robot in Ex Machina (2014), for which she was nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role as well as Gerda Wegener in The Danish Girl (2015), for which she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Forbes listed Vikander as one of its 30 Under 30 List in 2016. She has also starred in the action film Jason Bourne (2016), as Lara Croft in the adventure film Tomb Raider (2018), and in the fantasy film The Green Knight (2021).
