Sacramone placed 14th in all-around during the 2003 National Championships. She also took home a bronze medal for floor exercise and fourth on vault. This helped her get a place on the team for nationals. The following year, she participated in her first international event as a senior in the Massilia Gym Cup in Marseille, France, where she was fourth on floor exercise and ninth on vault. In 2004 Sacramone helped the U.S. win a team gold medal at the Pacific Alliance Championships in Honolulu and also won the individual vault title. Her performance attracted the attention of the media, who began to mention her as a potential candidate for the American team for the 2004 Olympics in Athens. The hopes of her securing an Olympic selection were crushed at the 2004 U.S. Nationals by an error-filled performance. While she was able to tie with Mohini Bhardwaj to win the silver medal on the vault, she finished in 19th place overall, and didn't make it to compete in the Olympic Trials. Her back injury also required her to miss time from work. Sacramone continued to compete until the end of 2004 as an athlete on the national team. She was selected to participate in several international meets including the Pan American Individual Event Championships in which she took home the floor and vault titles. 16 years old, she won the World Cup Finals in Birmingham (England) in which she beat Monica Rosu, the reigning Olympic vault champion from Romania in order to take first place.
