Patrick Charles Eugene Boone (born June 1st 1934) is an American singer and actor. Boone was a popular pop artist in the United States during the 1950s and the early 1960s. Boone has sold more than 45 million records, had 38 Top 40 hit songs, and was in over 12 Hollywood movies. 9 on its list of the Top 100 Top 40 Artists 1955-1995.Until the end of the decade, Boone held the Billboard record for the longest time of 220 consecutive weeks on the charts, with at least one of his songs every week.At 23 Boone began hosting the half-hour ABC variety television series, The Pat Boone Chevy Showroom, which aired for more than 115 episodes (1957-1960). Numerous musical artists, such as Edie Adams, Andy Williams, Pearl Bailey, and Johnny Mathis, made appearances on the show. The cover versions he performed of his rhythm and blues hits have had a significant impact on the development of the widespread popularity of rock and roll.
