Kurt Warner

Kurtis Eugene Warner (born June 22nd 1971) is an American former football player who was a part of the National Football League (NFL) for 12 years, most notably with the St. Louis Rams and Arizona Cardinals. His career, which saw him ascend from a non-drafted free agent to two-time Most Valuable Player and Super Bowl MVP, is regarded as one of the greatest Cinderella tales in NFL history. After playing college football at Northern Iowa from 1990 to 1993, Warner spent four years without being named to the NFL roster. In 1994 Warner was signed by the Green Bay Packers. However the team released him prior to the regular season. In the meantime, he played three seasons with the Iowa Barnstormers in the Arena Football League (AFL). Warner was accepted by the Rams in 1998. He played in an assistant position until he was promoted the starting position in St. Louis in the year following. Warner was the first NFL quarterback to start as a starter. He was the quarterback who led The Greatest Show on Turf to take home Super Bowl XXXIV. This was the year that he earned Super Bowl MVP and league honours. Warner won his second league MVP award in 2001, en route to the Super Bowl XXXVI game and was also a part of Super Bowl XLIII along with the Cardinals.
