Catherine Bell (actress)

Bell was one of the main actors in Men of War, a 1994 Dolph Lundgren film. Bell as well as Trevor Goddard became close friends during filming in Thailand. Goddard was to play Bell's intermittent love lover Mic Brumby in JAG following the year. Goddard passed away in June 2003 due to a fatal overdose of a drug. Bell, who was grieving, described the incident as "horrible". She was offered a three-line role in an episode of the NBC series JAG. The show focuses on the activities of the US Department of the Navy's Judge Advocate General Office. When NBC pulled JAG, CBS picked it up and revamped it using Sarah MacKenzie, a Marine Corps lawyer. Bell was a candidate for the role, and was chosen. The premiere episode included Bell talking Persian. The role was hers until the year 2005, when the show was cancelled. Bell started her career on the Lifetime's ensemble drama series Army Wives in 2007. Bell was Denise Sherwood (the wife of an U.S. Army lieutenant colonel) who is the victim of domestic violence from her son, her son who is a teenager, in the initial season. Bell played Cassandra Nightingale (the principal character in Hallmark's The Good Witch (2008) and its sequels The Good Witch's Gift (2010) and The Good Witch's Family (2011). Bell also served as co-executive producer of all the films. She also appeared in the Lifetime film Last Man Standing (2011).
