Her films have earned more than $14.3 billion in the world and made Johansson the top-grossing box office superstar of all time. She has been awarded numerous awards like a Tony Award and a British Academy Film Award as well as addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and five Golden Globe Awards.Born to an American father and a Danish father and an American mother, Johansson aspired to be an actor from a young age. She made her debut on stage in an off-Broadway production as a child actor. Her debut film was North (1994) in which was a comedy about fantasy. The actress gained recognition early for her performances in Manny & Lo 1996, The Horse Whisperer 1998, and Ghost World 2001.
