Mike Murdock

 Murdock was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to J.E. Murdock and Willie Murdock. He has four sisters. In 1964, Murdock graduated from LaGrange High School in Lake Charles. [1] He attended Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas, but quit after three years in 1966. [ The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported that Bakker had registered 76 songs to the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, according to data that was not official and posted on the groups' websites sites.In 1989, while serving as a pastor on The PTL Club, Murdock was a national sensation during the PTL scandal when he asked viewers to make donations to Jim Bakker and Tammy Faye Bakker saying they had helped break-up marriages and people. When the PTL was declared bankrupt, Bakker was sentenced to prison for fraud in relation to his work. [4] This episode was telecast on Last Week Tonight. John Oliver utilized it to showcase the extravagant lifestyles the lifestyles of preachers. In 1999 the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported that Murdock had refused to give interviews and had previously refused questions about the subject of money. The association purchased the International Faith Center in Haltom City (Texas) in August 2004 and then changed its name from The Wisdom Center to The Wisdom Center. The 25-room, 9943-square-foot property on 6.89 acres was listed on Realtor.com for $3.2 million. It was then relisted at $2.7 million on September 4, 2013.
