The first or paternal surname of the Spanish name is de Pablo. The second or maternal family name of Fernandez is Fernandez. Her birthplace was Santiago, Chile. At age 10, she emigrated to the United States to pursue acting. After performing in a variety of television roles, she was cast as the the main character Ziva David in NCIS on CBS TV show NCIS in 2005. She won an ALMA Award for the role in 2011.She performed a portion of Tom Waits' song "Temptation" in the 2008 episode of NCIS. Outside of the series, she has sung in Roberto Pitre's Vivo En Vida CD
