Tal was born and raised in Herzliya, Israel. Her father Ami Tal is a computer professional of Sephardic Jewish (Turkish-Jewish) descent and whose initial surname was "Mizrahi". Her mother Ayala (nee Sabat) is an attorney from Ashkenazi Jewish (Polish-Jewish) descent. Both parents were born and raised in Israel. The divorce of her parents occurred at the age of 9. When she was 9, the parents split up. There are two half-sisters who are from her father. She was a member of the Israel Defense Forces's military theatre. Following her military service, Tal began her career with a children's videotape in which she was an evil witch. Then, she was featured in a commercial for laundry detergent. Later, she played the lead role in the Israeli film Lihiyot Kochav (To Be A Star). During the filming of the movie Tal was offered roles in two Israeli television shows and she accepted both. The first was Tzimerim (a soap drama about a family who manages a hotel); the second was HaPijamot ("The Pyjamas") which is a sitcom about a band struggling to make it in real life. She appeared in the initial three seasons and later joined as an actor in the guest role, which gave her the opportunity to showcase her talent as a singer. She wasn't the main character in the first three seasons. However, she did appear in a number of episodes from the fourth season.
